September Career Course - Day 18

Today was a very exciting day at the Tallulah Rose Flower School,  today we welcomed Rona Wheeldon from Flowerona http://flowerona.com/

I can speak for all of us when I say what a pleasure it was to spend the day with Rona. She was so giving in her knowledge of social media and blogging, the students found it so useful not to mention inspiring too..

After a cuppa (and a sticky bun) we set the scene for the students... today was to be the 'mock-shop' day and the students were given two order briefs and a deadline for there completion. As our students have really developed their practical skills we decided it was time to step up the time pressure!
Don't think we're cruel it's all part of the training to make our students professional in every way!

Rona didn't escape the challenge either but rose to it and produced a stunning hand-tied bouquet designed to give to a "new mum who had recently given birth to a baby girl!"

Although this was a 'mock' order my lovely friend Verity did in fact have a beautiful baby girl Myla Alice last sunday so here's to you Myla.. welcome to the world!

Baby Myla Alice, 5 hours old..... what a doll!

The students get busy with their 'timed' task... you could here a pin drop they were concentrating so hard!

Hey Lydia don't be shy!

Each bouquet was very different even though the students used the same flowers! The individual styles that the students have been developing over the past four weeks really shone through...
